The Occupational Therapy Association of Oregon – a 501 (c)(6) tax-exempt organization – is a community of Occupational Therapy practitioners formed around our passion to help others find a quality and a balance to life, no matter what the area of specialty we have chosen.
We unite around common goals, common needs to gain further education and knowledge. We believe in and advocate for the practice of occupational therapy throughout Oregon.
What does this mean and how does this work?
The OTAO Board is made up solely of volunteers. It all starts with someone saying “I want to help”; “I want a bigger role in my professional organization”; “I want to make a difference.”
- Elected (voting) positions include: President, Treasurer, Secretary, Regional Representatives
- Appointed (voting) positions include: Scholarship Committee Chairperson, Continuing Education/Conference Co-Chairs, Legislative Co-Chairs, Marketing Co-Chairs, Membership Co-Chairs, Pacific University and Linn-Benton Faculty Representatives
- Appointed (non-voting) Officers include: President-Elect, Past President, Student Representatives (2 from Pacific University and 2 from Linn-Benton Community College)
- Special Interest Section liaisons
The Board meets quarterly (meetings are listed in our Calendar). What gets accomplished through the Board carries over to our membership. The Board’s role is to support OTAO’s Mission Statement. They create value for all OTAO members by supporting and providing networking/educational opportunities and meeting our advocacy needs.
