The OTAO Legislative Committee invites you to take part in a unique opportunity to learn more about the legislative process in Oregon. Join the OTAO Legislative Committee and your OTAO Lobbyist (virtually) for a day of “hands-on” education and interaction with your state legislators. For the 2021 special session, the Legislative Committee have identified a number of bills that may impact OT’s in Oregon.

(We are currently working our way through them, and plan to disseminate a voter guide in the next couple weeks, so be on the look out!)

The day will include a brief training on:

  1. The current legislation affecting OT
  2. The importance of advocacy at the state level
  3. Tips for interacting with legislators
  4. Discussion on House Bill 3360

Be prepared to show your OT expertise as you meet those people that are responsible for crafting the legislation that directly informs OT practice in Oregon. The future of Occupational Therapy in Oregon depends on our collective knowledge and engagement! We hope you will join us on this day!
